If you own your own home the Somerset West Private Sector Housing Partnership can offer advice and financial assistance that covers a number of improvements, adoptions or repairs that might need to be carried out on your home.

Disabled Facilities / Adaptations

If someone in your household is disabled you may qualify for a grant to help with adaptations to enable you to stay in your home.

Low Interest Loans Schemes

For information on loans that are available to carry out essential work to ensure the safety of your home.

Mortgage Issues (external link)

Somerset Support offers assistance to those who have been affected by the recession and now are at risk of losing their home.

Mortgage Rescue Scheme (MRS)

If you're having difficulties making your mortgage repayments and are in danger of becoming homeless, you could get financial help to stay in your home. This is called the Mortgage Rescue Scheme.

It's a last resort after you've tried all other options to make your repayments easier - talk to your lender first.

Handihelp Service

This service can help with minor repairs to your home.

Home from Hospital

For practical help and advice to get you home from hospital.

Energy Efficiency and Keeping Warm

For information on grants available for keeping your home warm, lowering bills, insulation costs etc.

Empty Homes

If you would like to bring your empty property back into use we may be able to help you with a grant to ensure the property meets the required standards.

Citizens Advice Bureau Financial Help (external link)

Provides independent advice on a number of matters, including legal advice and money matters.
